My name is Eve Feeney. I was born in September 1994,
which for those of you that love star signs like me,
makes me a Virgo...make of that as you wish.
I like to laugh often (with the occasional snort)
I don't sleep on any pillows even though I have 4 on my bed
I have next to no self-control when it comes to food
Those little extras at the checkout in shops - they were made for people like me
I will greet every dog I see whilst completely ignoring its owner
I can rustle up a great Victoria Sponge
I probably have different coloured hair every time you see me
I listen to music every day without a doubt
I am a serious photo hoarder
I will never be satisfied with the number of tattoos and piercings I have
I bloody love a list!
I grew up as a middle child to two beautiful sisters, Ella is the eldest and Polly the youngest.
I am blessed to call them my best friends as well as my sisters, we have always got along so wonderfully.
Ella and I were actually born in the same hospital in Northallerton, North Yorkshire by the same
midwife (weirdly) and for the first 2ish years of my life we lived in Catterick Garrison, again North Yorkshire.
We lived in an Army Garrison as my father, Andrew, served 22 years in the military.
We followed him around for a while living in lots of different little houses, which looking back was rather fun.
We moved down to the Arborfield Garrison just before Polly was born which was around the same that I started nursery.
One of my favourite memories of that first Arborfield house was running down the stairs with an orange crayon leaving marks from top to bottom. This would have been bad, but it was worse (not sure if it still applies) because in Army houses we weren't allowed to even paint the walls so a nice shade of orange crayon looked smashing.
It may seem I have always had a taste for trouble; or creativity?
Perspectives are important.
Whilst my dad was frequently on tour, literally being a hero, our mother raised us.
So for the majority of my childhood, it was just me, the girls and Mum, Diane.
I have always believed that my mum is probably one of the best people on earth.
From this time, I will always hold the most beautiful memories.
We really did, in fact, do, have the best of times as a family - I am blessed.
Cutting to many years down the line - as I want to give you snippets into me as I write my blogs - I will tell you a bit about adult Eve...
I skipped the whole University thing and went straight into full-time work after completing my A-Levels in Psychology, Art and Photography. Being an adult sucked at first but then I got my lucky break - I got a job as a Marketing and Events Manager.
Alongside working and after a well-needed break from education, which didn't turn out to be as scary as I remember, I studied with the Chartered Institute of Marketing and landed myself with three qualifications.
Chuffed doesn't cut it.
At the age of 23, I fell over very gracefully at a wedding and broke both bones on either side of my ankle.
Whilst this was a horrific incident, that lead to emergency surgery and a long 12 weeks being immobile during the hottest summer the UK has had in 20+ years, it also taught me that I am not actually invincible.
Because weirdly, I think all of us think we are?
I came out of it stronger, and with a metal ankle to prove it. Although all I see after a couple of cocktails is danger,
I still don't -most of the time- act my age.
I carry around with me in my soul, the most precious friends and on my arm is my star of a boyfriend Sam.
It's hard to know what else to say now, so I will just leave it.
Love Eve x
